Convert your Cine Film Reels to USB

Yes, we can transfer your Cine Film reels to MP4 video files on USB sticks.

The footage captured off your Cine Film reels can be placed on a USB stick (which we can provide), or we can send you the footage via WeTransfer (a free online file transferring service).

We can capture any 8mm film - that is either ’standard 8mm’ or ’super 8mm film. We can also transfer super 8mm film that has sound.

We firstly inspect and clean your films: this process gives your films a much fresher, cleaner look and ensures you are receiving the highest quality. We then scan your films frame by frame to produce a digital MP4 file. The films are ‘over-scanned’ which means we capture the whole of the film width and height. These are then cropped down in the final editing process.  If you wish to edit your films yourself we can supply the original over-scanned files. You are then given a USB stick which contains all your scans.

We can take 3”, 5”, 7” and 9” reels.

A 3’’ reel will hold around 50 feet of film and will run for around 3-4 minutes.

A 5’’ reel will be around 200 feet of film and will run for around 15-17 minutes.

A 7” reel will be around 400 feet of film and will run for around 26-29 minutes.

A 9” reel will be around 800 feet of film and will run for around 56-61 minutes.

Yes - it is complex as we have to first scan your film (which doesn’t capture the sound) and then ’telecine’ the film to capture the audio. These are then put together in the editing phase.

Generally for a small order - 7 to 14 days, and for large orders - 14 to 28 days.  Quality is our first priority and that means we sometimes take a little longer.

Your Cine Film reels can be dropped off at our location in Horsforth, Leeds. Or can be posted and returned by post once completed, which can be discussed, so please contact us.
